Adirondack Portable has recently been demolishing houses. Using their portable crushers and grinder they are able to recycle 90% of the material. The brick and concrete goes through the portable crusher and is recycled as road base or clean fill material. All metals are seperated out and recycled, and the wood is ground up into material to be used for fuel or caping material with our grinder. In turn being able to grind and crush these materials it saves money for the customer on those costly dump fees.

About Us

Jim McGee , Owner of Adirondack Portable Custom Crushing, after graduating from high school in 1990 his first job was driving truck for a blacktop/stone producing company.  He worked for this company until 1994. During his employment he moved through out the company operating all branches, and learned how important maintenance is.

In December of 1994 he made a move to work in the demolition business. Helping tear down a paper mill and recycle the brick and steel.  At the same time that the mill was being demolished a project to build a new tug boat was starting at the mills old dock by the canal.  He stayed with the company and helped to build the tug by first learning the fabrication and welding aspects, and then the mechanics and electronics.  After completion he became the Chief Engineer in charge of maintenance for the first six months.

In May of 1995 he decided that his future would be best suited in the maintenance business.  He went to work for a John Deere dealership as a road service mechanic, and worked for the company until it was absorbed by a larger dealership in New York City and shut down.

In January of 1996 he started a partnership with the man that was the service manager from the John Deere dealership.  They started working as road technicians, and eventually built a repair business employing 8 people and offering services from repair and parts to rentals and trucking.

In 1999 he purchased the crushing equipment from the company that he worked for after high school.  The equipment was in various stages of dis-repair.  They utilized their repair facility to re-furbish the equipment.  In order to test the repairs, he moved the portable machines to a local gravel pit along with some of the extra rental machines.  Adirondack Portable Custom Crushing was born.

In January of 2006 Adirondack Portable custom crushing was officially started separating from the partnership and becoming it's own company. With seven years experience in the crushing business.  Today they have done crushing projects from the Canadian border to North Carolina .
